A twelve-part psychological thriller
Her boyfriend Sander seems to be involved. The families of the two teenagers are horrified. What really happened between Sander and Yasmin that night? Is her father less tolerant than first appears? What does her pathologically jealous girlfriend Merel know of her disappearance? And what about the porn film that Yasmin, Merel and Sonja would rather keep under wraps? Who else has something to conceal? Painful secrets and ancient conflicts start to stir. Confusion and suspicion corrode the friendship between Yasmin’s and Sander’s families, and life in the village begins to fall apart.
The search for Yasmin pitilessly exposes the murkier sides of the protagonists’ characters. Nothing is what seems. And there's still no sign of Yasmin…
Episodes:
1: The sea is rough
A big party at the Lido, but many of the guests are not particularly happy. They discover a short porn movie on the internet, a medicine cabinet is raided and a smoldering argument has arisen. Two young lovers, Sander and Yasmin, disappear off to the beach, where something mysterious is going on.
2: No news
Yasmin has disappeared. Has she drowned, run away or is something else the matter? A big search party is organized. Sander has an incoherent story. Kristel discovers somebody has rummaged through her medicine cabinet.
3: A deep, black hole
A team of detectives descends on the village. Sander is interrogated and his story doesn’t seem to add up. It turns out that Merel had also been at the beach that particular night and she claims to have seen something.
4: Line 61
Osman is called: somebody claims to have captured Yasmin. He demands a ransom. Sander is getting desperate from all the accusations. He wants to get the truth out of Merel, by force if necessary.
5: The third girl
Now Merel has also disappeared and tension is mounting in the village. Sonja is afraid she’s going to be next and she feels forced to tell the truth about the porn movie. Deniz has seen something on the beach.
6: Washed up
Sander is arrested again. Kristel and Rinus see something floating in the sea. Osman is trying to keep the peace in the village, thereby infuriating Josje. Sonja realizes who the mysterious witness is.
7: You see, I love you
Peer is trying to get his son out of prison. Lysette finds out who has kidnapped Yasmin at Merel’s funeral. Deniz receives strange telephone calls.
8: The rocks
Osman calls in the help of the Turkish mafia to get Yasmin back. Josje consults a psychic. Marcel discovers his dead daughter’s secret. Kristel seeks comfort in a stranger’s arms.
9: Back to De Ovens
Sander is in hospital, paralyzed in both legs. Deniz finds out who beat up Sander. Sonja cuts a deal with the maker of the porn movie and risks her life in the process.
10: Guilt
Sander wants to make a confession, much to his parent’s horror. Osman has a visitor from the Turkish mafia. Deniz is pressured by the police, but then the results from the DNA-test come in…
11: Blood
Peer is accused of murdering Yasmin. Marcel and Lysette say goodbye. Sander, Josje and Osman have to testify, but Osman has discovered something right before then.
12: The verdict
The judge pronounces the verdict. Has Peer killed Yasmin or not? An unexpected witness takes the stand.
