This is a documentary about family-life inside the United States military. Through cinematographic observation a portrait of a military family, living on a US army base in Louisiana has been made.

In this documentary we see how a mother, father and their young children go about their daily life on the base. As is common for many military families, the father in this family will deploy as a soldier in Afghanistan. The young children of this family receive so called “deployment-dolls” to prepare them for the upcoming deployment of their father so they can maintain an active presence of their
father in their life.
