NOVA's cameraman Joris Hentenaar and reporter Tom Kleijn traveled to the Afghan province of Paktika, in the mountainous border region between Afghanistan and Pakistan. In this region Taliban fighters are entering Afghanistan along so-called infiltration routes or 'ratlines.'

NOVA reporters spent two weeks with US forces from Taskforce Yukon, filming the daily fight against the Taliban. While there is a continuous stream of men crossing the border in pick up trucks, on donkeys or on foot, NOVA encounters attacks with improvised explosive devices, were ambushed and filmed the almost constant threat coming from the Taliban. But for the US troops trying to contain the influx of insurgents into Afghanistan, it is impossible to tell who are the good guys and who are not.
